IIA Faculty member and Teradata's chief analytics officer Bill Franks has written that data visualization is a primary component in leveraging big data, enabling companies to take advantage of the huge opportunity to profit from their data. Yet, most organizations are hindered by not taking advantage of contemporary tools to visualize their data.
 
Join us on Sept. 9 as Bill Franks talks about making big data more actionable by using new and improved techniques enabled by compelling data visualization tools. He will describe how with visualization organizations can unlock more value from big data, and will focus on how to turn insights from big data into actions.  Additionally, he will provide guidance on how to make analytic processes operational, explain how to overcome the cultural barriers related to using big data—and provide examples of how to turn big data into big profits.

Bill Franks is an IIA Faculty Member and the Chief Analytics Officer for Teradata, providing insight on trends in the analytics & big data space and helping clients understand how Teradata and its analytic partners can support their efforts. In this role, Bill also works to help determine the right strategies and positioning for Teradata in the areas of analytics & big data.
 
Bill is the author of the book Taming The Big Data Tidal Wave (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., April, 2012). His second book The Analytics Revolution is due out this fall.
