Exact enables the municipality to provide information more efficiently and effectively. The result is a better focus on policy content. An additional benefit is the simplification of the financial department's work processes. Approximately forty people at the municipality are going to start using the new software.

The current financial information system, which the municipality of Eijsden-Margraten has used since 2005, is regarded as complex, user unfriendly and expensive to manage. In addition, it is difficult to implement far-reaching, but necessary changes in this system. Given the municipality's desire to focus on both financial and content-related results, it started looking for a system that supported financial processes and offered excellent reporting options. During a multiple private tendering procedure, Exact was selected as the central information system.

Exact scored higher than the other parties, particularly in the area of management information. For example, between 70 and 80 percent of the commonly used management reports are a standard feature in Exact. It is also a lot easier to adapt such reports in Exact compared to other software. What is more, the central system generates greater transparency, as a result of which management can make timely adjustments within the set frameworks. It is possible to work independently of time, device and location thanks to the use of mobile apps. Lastly, the online access to Exact Synergy provides the necessary flexibility.
The chosen solution

The selected solution consists of Exact Globe, Exact Synergy and Exact Event Manager in combination with ScanSys to facilitate and process digital invoices.

As Martijn Reinders, information management policy adviser at the municipality of Eijsden-Margraten, explains, “We want to be ‘in control’ more and no longer dependent on the limitations of the system when it comes to simplifying the financial department's work processes. An essential requirement is the flexible, financial provision of information. During our discussions with Exact it transpired that the software was exactly what we were looking for, particularly as regards user-friendliness, logical structure and innovative technology. In addition, functionality that is absent in the current situation is a standard feature in Exact. We therefore expect to be able to take huge steps towards realising our ambitions and objectives.”
