The new patent – entitled “Systems and methods for performing automatic real-time harmonics analysis for use in real-time power analytics of an electrical power distribution system” – describes the Company’s unique ability to perform detailed harmonic analysis continuously and in real time based on changing electrical conditions of the power network. These “real-time” harmonics are key to the identification of potential problems caused by events occurring in the power infrastructure, e.g. disturbances caused by large, electricity-drawing equipment turning on and shutting off.

Harmonic problems can impact the reliability, efficiency and the longevity of equipment. Such interference can impact the operation of equipment and instrumentation requiring very controlled, clean electrical power; the ability to detect and diagnose such disturbances in real-time helps organizations to eradicate operational problems that could impact maintenance and operational costs.
